Zambo
This year I have been out about 75 hours looking for shed antlers. All of my time is spent walking. I have picked up 14 sheds with three matched sets. That works out to about one shed for every 5 hours of looking. I'm very happy with those results. First I was interested if this is about an average rate of find and second, do you think access to property is the key factor.
buckee
I'm not really sure how many hours we've (my wife and I) have put in so far, but the last 4 times I was out for approx 3-4 hours each time for 0 sheds Then today, my dog and I checked out a couple of spots, and managed to pick up 3 sheds, with 2 of them being a matching set found approx. 70 yrds from one another  It's really tough around here, because of the undergrowth, but so far, I guess we have found 22. I think property is definately a key factor. Just ask those prairie shed hunters the lucky stiffs :D
hoythunter37
Well it is kinda hard to say. But I have been out everyday for the past three weeks with each day spending about 3-4 hours after work. So I would say 75 hours or so. I just cant help being out there, gotta love just walking around in the woods. That is what it is all about to me, doesnt really matter if I find a shed or not. Good times..... hoythunter37
Not as much as I should. Been working two jobs. I remember when I only had to work one and had tons of free time..... I know exactly what you mean. I had three jobs plus being a full time student didnt let me have anytime what so ever to do anything. Then this semester I had a heavier class load so I had to cut my other two jobs out. Good luck huntin everyone!

sureshot
no idea, spent a lot of time earlier in the year when out coyote hunting, if I seen a spot that deer were near i would go for a hike, check out bales ect,I would say well over 120 hours so far, I am close to 100 sheds so far, but they are getting harder, checked out my best spots and now just trying to find were they dropped in spots I never was ableto keep a good eye on thes winter, spent 7 hours saterday and came home with 2,sunday walked for 4 hours without a shed then found a hilltop they fed on the creeping ceder and found 7 in 5 minutes, I expect to put in about another 150 hours to check all my best spots, [i should put in pounds lost instead of hours lol]
Jorden
Unfortunatley, probably not more than 5 hours:(...by the time I get home from school it is already May and I start working so not much time...maybe an hour or two here and there when I am home on vacation, usually there is still too much snow though. deershed
These last couple weekends alone it's been Sat. and Sun looking from around 9:00am til dark. Since the beginning of Jan. it's been every weekend, but not as long of days.I took vacation 2 days and looked all day then there were some trips looking during the week earlier in the season. I'd say at least a couple hundred hours looking already this year.
