Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
We drive through there on our way to and from deer camp every year. Depending on the time of day, we stop and look around a bit, it is usually cold though Edited March 26, 2009 by Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
Tominator
Been a long time ago, but I've been there. I remember being pretty scared as a kid going over that monstrous bridge.

AdvantageTimberLou
I have been there a few times. Usually stay there and then go over the bridge to St. Ignace to see the big car show. That is usually the last weekend in June. Thousands of cars. Mackinaw City is very nice, they have added a lot of little shops downtown and you can take the ferry over to the Island where you can take bikes around the Island or ride horses through the center. If you love Fudge, your in luck as they are well know for Fudge up there. Fort Mackinaw is something to see as well. Beautiful country up there and worthy of a vacation! Have fun if you go! htephil
Was there a couple years ago. We took one day to head from there over to the Great Lakes shipwrecks museum at White Fish Point. Next day we went up to Sault St. Marie to go on the Augawa Canyon train ride. Last day we went over to Mackinaw Island ......each one was well worth the day spent and our kids still talk about it. HCO Team
It's been awhile since I've been there. It is gorgeous and that bridge... You all will enjoy it there, many interesting things to see!
craig mack
My parents live 30 miles south of Mackinaw City. Very nice area!!!! Nice little strip of little shops in town and a short boat ride will take you to the island. You can rent bikes and ride around the island which is very scenic. Lots of great fishing around there also so bring your poles and tackle. There is a small water park there also, which the kids might like. Depending on how long your gonna stay, there are lots of places to go if your willing to do a little driving, like the Soo Locks, Taquamanon Falls, and Pictured Rocks. Tim, if there is anything you want to know about the area PM me and I will help you out if I can. The Cheboygan River is a very easy place to take the kids fishing. My wife manages to pull out a couple 20+ inch smallies a year.
