Turkeygirl
Finally saw my first strutter of the season...it's about time. Driving over to campus this AM, was thinking how I have not seen any turkeys at all, even with this thaw...not even around where I hunt. Well just before I get to the college, there's a big hill across from the college farm (college has an Ag. program) and there on this hill is a nice flock of turkeys with one off to the side all plumped up, fanned out, and juicy looking:eek: Guess it'll be time to start planning some heavy scouting soon. Not sure what luck I'll have by home, may be hitting state land again. I did find out there is a turkey contect at the hunting shop, $5 entry, but it's open to PA and NY hunters and I don't really know my chances then, lol, and finding a bird around here is hard enough...they have some good prizes though! PotashRLS
Things are a bit slow up here as the weather has not warmed up much yet. The birds are still bunched up. Now snow is in our forecast again for the weekend:(
