Primos Ground Max Vision Blind

I've reviewd Cabela's ground blind choices and read the product reviews. Originally I was condisering the TSC doghouse but not so sure anymore. Since spending 400.00 is not an option for me I'm thinking the "ground Max Vision" might be the best choice for the money at $211.00. Would like for me and my 7 year old daughter to use it deer hunting together in the fall.

Anyone used this blind?

Comments? Good/bad?

Fly,

This is the one i am looking at purchasing today...its got all the same stuff, wide and tall, and a little cheaper...

im on the fence between the one you are looking at and this one...but for the price, i think im going to go with the ladder...

oops...looks like we are looking at the same thing...i had a primos ground max, that was similar to these, but i left it out during deer season, and we got a pile of snow that ended up melting and ultimately caving the whole darn thing in...i loved it though which is why i am going to get another...the link above has cheaper prices.

I bought one of these Predator Den blinds from Cabelas when they were $129.99. I liked it so much I ordered a second one. My Dad killed his bear out of one last fall and I killed a doe with my pistol during our gun-deer season out of the other one. We all like them so much I bought a third one so I can use them for our Youth Turkey Learn To Hunt Program. They are now $149.99 in Cabelas but I absolutely love them. The velcro on the windows can be a bit loud but most blinds have issues. I give them 5 stars and HIGHLY recommend them to you. See the attached picture.

The blind used to be manufactured by a company known as "Big Game Treestands".

I do know that the "Hub" is tough as nails and you need to be careful when popping the wall out from the inside. Unless they changed something that eye bolt is bare on the inside. If you make the mistake of placing your hand directly on it to push out the wall...you will bleed..profusely.

Heat Shrink tubing tends to eliminate that problem...after the fact:o

There are, or there should be (IDK if they changed it), flat fabric loops around the edge of the roof for placing twigs and brush.

Theres a small pocket on the inside of the blind near the floor for storage of the stakes that you use to tie the blind out. It's useless after the first time you do tie out the blind because you will end up leaving the cords tied there and the stakes will stay on the end of the cords...it does no damage to the blind to leave them there when you pack it up.;):p

P.S. Broadheads do cut the interior walls...which also happen to be the exterior walls...ooops:o:D

Suprisingly though whatever tear in the fabric may happen from an instance of leaning forward while holding your bow out in front of you seems not to continue to tear after repeated stretchings(usage) of the blind material.

Also it does not hurt to take it outside on a nice hot dry day and spray waterproofing on it paying special attention to the seams on the roof...you wont regret doing that. Especially after the first time you used the blind during a heavy rain without having treated the fabric first...Gawwwd that was miserable:eek::o:D

I bought this one also. It is a great blind, I would highly recommend them. If I were you I would go with the 360 vision one.

Before Primos bought out Double Bull Archery I ordered the Matrix RECURVE model, hard to find these days but great for tall guys. I also have the T2. I like how they don't shine like other materials. I can get deer within just a few feet of me and last season a deer ran by being chased by something but came within inches of the blind, it was cool to see & hear!

Thanks for the replies guys.

Funny how things happen some times.

I had to work in St. Louis today (near a Cabela's) and got off a half hour early (which never happens). Anyway as I drove by the exit I just decided at the last second to turn off and stop at Cabela's to see if they had any blinds up. Well they had a bunch up including the Vision. I was NOT going to buy anything!

I got inside and at first really liked it. It's a good looking blind, but then I started thinking practically. Would this blind be the best for me and my fidgity 7 year old next fall.

I decided it was not the one I wanted after all. The very feature that drew me to it (360 degree curtain windows) is what made me decide against it. The curtains were rather loose and in a wind might rip and be loud. I'd have to have the mesh open because I don't think my daughter would be able to see well using the scope through the mesh since it was so loose. I also imagine I'd have to adjust the window several times for her to get a good shot and that movement would bring attention to us. I know it was a floor model, but it was the only one that the stitching was coming undone on (all over).

Anyway I saw another one that was on sale for 99.00 the Primos Eclipse. It had the triangle windows that I thought I'd hate. It had the noisy velcro and from the picture an ugly color. However, once I was inside trying it out it was the one I liked the most and it was only $99.99. I like how the mesh can be fitted to the window very tight or left out and open. The triangle windows that looked too small from the picture actually seemed fine once I was inside. I didn't even mind the color once I saw it in person. Anyway, I walked out with one. I guess it is a lot like a bow. You have to try it out and see which one "fits" you better.

Smack, you'll have to let me know how you like your Vision and what you think of the curtain style netting. It looks great for a seasoned hunter, but I didn't think it was the best for a kid. Anyway, I think i'll try it out in couple weeks during turkey season. I'll put some seam sealer on it first because most reviews indicate it leaks.
