Hunt or be Hunted

best thing to do is take it to a bow shop and get them to put strings on it. Once it has them you can see what the poundage is and see if you will be able to pull it back, also you will be able to measure draw length of it. But without having the bow here and no strings on it, you cant really tell anything about the poundage and draw leangth. First step...get strings and go from there

Make sure you ask as many questions as you can at the shop and talk to customers as well. A wealth of information is at a good pro shop. I ended up getting a steal on a 2 yr old bow by doing just that, and set it up at the shop where I was. Taking it back next weeek to get new cables and strings....And making it the back up bow now that I can afford a new one now that I know that I will stick with bows alot more! If you look around, you will find some out of the way places. I use google maps for the city I am in, put archery into the search feature, and then you got some looking ahead of you! Good luck...

Hey there hunt or be hunted. I live about 60 miles north of you. I'd take it to Gander Mountain in Paducah. I met one of the guys down there and he seems to know his stuff. They have an indoor range and all the equipment to fix what you got. Plus you can outfit it with all the latest stuff if you want and they are very competitive in price. I took my bow in to be tuned and it cost around $30 for setup and yer looking at $60 for the string. I recommend asking for a d-loop, some cat whiskers and pick which peep sight you can focus better with. I'd take no less than $200 with you for a complete setup and a few little extras you may find that you like. Don't leave until you paper tune that bow with the arrows you want as well. Don't let the shop guy steer you into something you don't like. Confidence in your equipment is 99% of your mental focus when shooting. A good drop away doesn't have to cost a fortune. You can get a good QAD hunter rest for $50 or a whisker biscuit even cheaper. Again, shoot a lot before you decide on what you really settle on that way you can see all of the benefits and deficiencies. You have no pressure to buy anything or to settle for less than perfection in your setup. If you don't like what they have done, then simply go with the string on yer bow and that's it. Get it setup somewhere else you are more comfortable with. Good luck!

You can get a Vaportrail String for $30 for a 2 cam/ Cam and Half bow and it should cost around $10 to $15 to get it set up. Thats all we use at work and we haven't had anyone come back and complain yet.
