dbHunterNY
I was just curious if any that have shot or have info on Remington rifles with the triangular barrel. More specifically, compared to regular barrels, does how much does your shot creep after the first (cold bore) shot? I would think that with the triangular design it would be significantly reduced, but I don't know that. - Dan
Arkansas Boy
i don't know but the Remington 700 VTR is one sweet looking gun. It has drawn me since the first time I saw it. I want one in .
hangunnr
That barrel will act no differently than any other Remmy barrel. The shape dosen't do a durn thing for anything but add to the "it's different" factor. hangunnr

I'd be willing to bet you'd see no difference between it and any other off the shelf Remmy.

I still stay it looks nice. - Dan
dbHunterNY
I've heard people getting sub-moa with the model gun above, but I don't know if it's much in part due to the barrel. - Dan
Adjam5
Remington is also using that shape barrel on their R15&R10 models, AR variants. It will make the barrel more rigid, lighter and with less surface area, it will cool faster also under rapid fire. It does happen to look cool too;)

tc2506
Yea I almost bought that same rifle. Looks pretty cool, but I was told it'll make your head rattle it's so loud. I still stay it looks nice. - Dan i was thinking of getting 1 in 22-250 until a friend of mine bought 1 IN 308 it will def rattle your head witout ear protection, 1other thing i noticed is imo the brake was useless for recoil reduction i have a tikka t3 308 that has absolutly no more recoil than the reme does with the brake, i will say that the reme is a shooter though, outa the box it shot same hole 1st 2 shots everytime but the 3rd was usualy .5 off to the right and .75 high, i glass bedded it for him and it now will keep the 3rd shot touching the 1st 2 Edited May 3, 2009 by tc2506
