redkneck
I've got a few like that, treated 4x4's sticking up about 8-10 feet up. a 48x48 platform is kinda tight, but if you have no plans to take anyone else, you can get by with a lot less material. (making a 5x5 wastes some material, since plywood is 4x8). We also stood up some 4x6 shacks on stilts using a pickup truck bed. We made the shacks, hauled them in on a trailor, then laid it onto the back of the truck, and screwed and braced the legs, then walked it back. you'll need about 5 guys to do that. Good luck. toddyboman
We have built a couple like this..... In the first picture you can see the one has tin on it to the right behind the ladder you can see the frame of the other... We attached old telephone poles to the bottom and then but part of the legs off so we created skies for the stand.....that way we can move them around as needed I am not sure on there total size......But 2 people can easily sit inside. There is 4 windows that fold out....make for a great rest too The windows are around
toddyboman
We have built a couple...... I am not sure on the exact size...... I do know we can sit 2 people in lawn chairs inside with some room to spare.... We have 4 fold out windows. The door to the stand is in the floor.... The window is about 8 feet off the ground. We only use them for gun hunting or for general observation. Here is a couple pics..... Here you can see one has tin already on it......there is another behind the ladder to the left (of the pictures) that does not have the tin on it yet. We also attached telephone poles to the bottom legs. We then cut a part of the legs off so the telephone pole would act like skies. This way we can move that stands around as needed As the pictures show we built them in 2006....They have been out in the weather every since and have held up great.....We did all we could to protect them so they would last..... They are GREAT for hunting in windy/cold/rainy/snowy days....and great for kids.....I take my daughter with me often to one...we crank on the little hitter so she stays warm and we enjoy the great outdoors!! doubleA
I used to make them out of wood( 1/2"sheathing, 3/4 ply wood floor,2x4 studs and meatl roof) and cover them with a good 30lb felt paper. They have plexiglass sliding windows, heaters, carpet etc. Some are over 20 years old and still going strong. Now days I went with all steel construction other that the floor, they are modular and can be taken down in pieces. There is alot of work in them but will last a long long time. They are 4x6ft and the windows are at about 12 ft. They roomy enough for 2 but are not that big where 1 person cant cover all the windows. The stairs, porch and handrails make them very safe to get into. Here are some pictures from construction to the field.

okiedog
Here are some pictures of a 6' x 8' I built a couple of years ago. I put hinged plex windows in in for guns as well as removable windows to shoot a bow out of.

jcdeer54
Blind I built one one it was 6'x4' six foot long and four feet wide. In Ohio we bow hunt a lot more than gun. This size (the four feet wide) is too small to draw back a bow and not hit the walls, I would stick with the 5'x5' or go bigger if you want two people to fit.
