dbHunterNY
Any of you taken predators with a bow before? It seems to be a little difficult...lol. So far I've only managed to take one fox with my bow. Just curious and thought I'd ask. - Dan

bluelund79
Coyote was supposed to be my first animal with a bow-came directly under the stand, reached for the bow at the wrong time and got busted, no shot for me...
PotashRLS
Shot a coyote with my bow a few years back. Taxidermist is finally getting around to it. I will post pics when it is done.
redkneck
I've had a couple of yotes come up in bow season, but got busted both times. The first one was a 3-legged female i shot the leg off of with my .300 the year before!
Hoosierbuck
I have killed several (6-8) coyotes and one raccoon with my bow. I have never taken my bow out specifically to hunt coyotes with, they just were targets of opportunity while deer hunting. Here is what I learned after many times of getting busted by coyotes bowhunting: they are not deer, don't try to shoot them like deer. What I mean is this: as soon as I hear the trot of a coyote coming through the woods, I draw. Right now. THEN I look for the coyote and take the first half-way decent shot I get. They are always on the trot and will be through your area so fast that you are not going to run into a problem holding at full draw hardly, if ever. Either you will get a shot or they will be gone within a few seconds. The only sound I ever use to stop one is a lip squeek or kissing sound when I am already settling my pin on him. They are small, fast, skittish and they don't stand still long. Remember this tactic and let me know how many you kill doing it like this... Good advice Chris, can also use a can call. Situation I had with the bow, the yote was at a field edge and I called him in just about in range using the can call kind of shaking it as I flipped it over. Only thing going against me was that the yote was coming in from the downwind side.

I saw him and a buddy in the cornfield. I lip squeaked and they turned my way so I drew my bow early. Good thing cause they closed the distance quickly, but only one came in. I squeaked again to stop him and it was good night Irene.
