Shaun_300
i just had a really neat experience outside. my 2 buddies and i were standing outside, when we heard a loud howling sound. it was really high pitched, at first we thought it was drunk students just yellin and screamin but then i listened closer and the howling was getting closer REALLY quick. i am about 99% sure it was coyotes in the field behind the college residence. i go to school at Loyalist College here on the outskirts of Belleville Ontario, and live on residence. i couldn't believe it. i think they must have been chasing after some rabbits or something, because this area is just littered with rabbits. wow, just as i am typing this, i thought i heard it again, i opened up my window and sure enough, they are howlin away this is cool!! Shaun_300
Re: WOW!! THAT WAS NEAT!!!!! LOL @ Gary Yeah Martin, that sure does sound good a few weeks ago, i saw some rabbit at the grocery store. i was tempted, but one of my roommate's girlfriend is totally frieked out when it comes to hunting. and when i told her that i was going to bring my pellet gun down to take out one of the rabbits on the lawn she almost killed me herself so anyways, if i would have brought one of those things back to rez, she would have thought i was serious and actually popped off one of the bunnies out on the lawn

wtnhunt
Re: WOW!! THAT WAS NEAT!!!!! LOL@ Gary. Unfortunatley we hear them howling around here fairly often. Will never forget my first bowkill this year getting down and going to look for sign and hearing howls about an hour and a half after I had shot. Alisha
Re: WOW!! THAT WAS NEAT!!!!! ^^ what a bummer..... guess you never found that deer, eh? Shaun - want me to bring the beagle up and a couple shotguns? Actually, the poor dog hasn't ran rabbits for about 5 years now so he'd probably ditch us and join ranks with the coyotes. Ohiobucks
Re: WOW!! THAT WAS NEAT!!!!! That is a cool sound to hear indeed! We have been hearing more and more around our hunting grounds in central Ohio as well. The first night we were in Illinois last October hunting with LLBUX, there must have been a pack moving through pretty close to our campsite, it sounded like they were howling within 200-300 yards of us.
