Casey
He's stupid for taking it, he would have made it to the final four next year with the team he had at Memphis. They were young this year.
Guest TennesseeTurkey
Kentucky will be in the final four next year if the recruits he has committed to Memphis goes to UK with him....Meeks and Patterson along with a #1 recruiting class, and a great coach....UK will be the one to beat next year mark my words... The guy just made 35 million dollars...not very stupid in my opinion. If he fails, they still buy him out and him and his great, great, great, great Grandchildren will never have to worry about money.

I am talking strictly basketball not money. Yeah its an easy judgement call not to pass up that oppurtunity. I bet if he would have stayed with Memphis they would have took the next two tournament championships.

You remember what Bush had you paying for a gallon of petro, bud? It wasn't that long ago. But really, he's not my boy. He's just up there to drive a select few dbags here up a wall. I voted for McCain- even though I'm fairly sure either one would have been bad for you and I, my friend.

unioncountyslayer
He was never going to get the respect he deserves in C-USA. Let's see if he can win in a "Real" conference. But definitely a step in the right direction for both sides.

SEC Basketball is somewhat of a conference.....Im as big a SEC fan as the next guy but its really not a "real" conference....at least not this last year

I'm not an SEC fan, but for the most part, it's usually a pretty competitive league. Far more superior than C-USA. I doubt he'll be running the table every year like he did at Memphis. Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
Top to bottom the SEC is far more competitive than C-USA. It'll be interesting to see how well he does. He has had success at UMASS and obviously Memphis, but those conferences aren't exactly challenging. IMO Kentucky overpaid for this guy. Especially one without a championship. The school itself will be a big recruiting tool for him since it is Kentucky.

If you can give me a year in the last decade where there hasn't been 5 sec teams in the tourney then it'll stun me. Most years there are 6-

EKYhunter
I really wish Billy G would have stayed. I got to meet him and found him to be very nice. I watched him get down on one knee and talk with a lady in a wheel chair for about fifteen minutes. He made a point to get below her line of sight and look up to her. That impressed me. Anyway, we are glad to have coach Cal, and if he can deliever, he will be able to do whatever he wants in KY. If you're the BB coach and your winning championships, I swear you could kill someone here and get away with it. Most don't understand how big UK BB is here.
