Swamphunter
With the economy hitting an 80 year low....my wife has still given me permission to purchase an AR-15 if I can come up with the funds without shorting the family. A little OT at work, and that task will be complete. I just feel awful selfish as I am headed for Wyoming and Ontario for big game hunts this year that I committed to and am looking forward to long ago. I feel like if I don't purchase it, I will regret it. With the future of my wifes company not certain, I feel like right now this would be a selfish move. Man......, your opinions? mailmanmark
Obviously this is weighing heavily on your mind. That being said, I think you already know the answer. It's a hard call especially when you have been given a green light. Good luck in your decision.
PotashRLS
It will be shooting fun for the whole family:) Gunbroker.com seems to be leveling out on their prices as it seems a bit flooded with ARs now, especially DPMS brands. I bought the DPMS 5.56/223 Sportical and am happy I spent the money. I have not shot it yet as I need to find time to devote to breaking in the barrel. Watch for a good deal but don't compare prices to those of a year or two ago. The value is up because of our political issues and probably will be for a while. If you want it, buy it. If you want it, buy it. Got to agree with Tracy here Ken. If you want the gun and can afford it then get it, not likely it will lose any value. Lots of fun for the family with shooting AR's too. Don't think it would be at all selfish, but that is just my opinion.

Adjam5
Pssst...I'm that voice in your head....Buy it!...you heard me...Buy it! Hey, you already have the green light. So all now you need to decide is what Mfg, barrel length and twist rate:) The Black Rifle bug is catching... Easy gun for the kids/wife to shoot also Ken. Strut10
Buy it. If times get hard with your wife's job, you can always get your money back out of it.
dbHunterNY
How selfish? Would you let your wife shoot it to bring in dinner when you get home from work? If you're poor woodchuck/groundhog stew tastes pretty good I'd think. Honestly, though I think it would be an investment. Guns usually don't go down much in value so like others said you could get your money back. Talk with her again to make sure. - Dan
DKA
Sometimes a fellow just needs to buy another gun.
JimT
You only walk this road one time.... buy it!
johnf
If you don't buy it will you work that overtime for the money? If not, then you're really not taking money away from anyone. I don't see anything wrong with working harder to get something you want. Is'nt that what made this country great? It would be unamerican for you not to get it. Heavy Metal
Hey, I like guns and am always wanting new ones. But, you should go with your gut check. If you're feeling troubled about it, that is your clue to hold your fire.....for now! That's why God gave us a conscience. Who knows, maybe there is something unknown to you and your family that God knows you will need that money for. Could be strategic information you've been given. Swamphunter
As much as I WANT this gun... the NEED for it does not equal the sacrifice at this time. My brain, and my heart tells me to do what my gut is now suggesting and wait a few months. Gotta go with the gut for now anyways... thanks all for the input though..
