Dakota
After I got back to Tea from the University early yesterday afternoon I decided to go by the local pond. Knowing me y'all shouldn't be surprised that I had my tackle box and a couple of rod and reels in the back of my suburban. Well, I decided I was just going to fish for a few minutes, figured it was quite pointless because I didn't know if it had been stocked yet this year or not. Well after about 20 casts with the red and white spoon I hooked into a decent northern, about 25-26" 4-5lbs. I didn't measure or way him, but I've caught a lot there his size and just threw him back; I had to work later on yesterday and felt too lazy to clean and cook a fish! From what I've heard it hasn't been stocked yet, so that fish is a good sign that some have survived the winter; there's usually I bad winter kill in that pond.
