New Mexico Aoudad (Barbary sheep).

I have considered it, but not actually hunted them. I believe this is the first year for the draw for them, think they had been over the counter. The info I have read makes it sound like they move around quite a bit and locating them is kind of hit or miss unless you have an outfitter.

They are a beautiful animal.

Probably one of the hardest hunts there is. They live in rough country.

I think you would be better off hunting them in west Texas with an outfitter ----no draw for that hunt. CB

I just taped a recent Bob Foulkrod hunt he did in west TX in the Davis Mtns I think. It looked pretty challenging to me, even tho it was on a huge ranch. The first show he missed the shot, so there was a second show. I have the utmost respect for Foulkrod as he is a gritty old PA guy like me and it looked like he worked pretty hard to get the goat even tho a portion of the hunt was spot and stalk. Good luck on your hunt.

Remember if you really get the urge, I am pretty sure you can still buy landowner tags. You would also have to buy the license. Always an option if you just can't stand your buddy going alone.;)

Thanks for the info. I am not afraid of "HUNTING HARD", however, you guys got me a little hesitant so we will see how his hunt goes this coming year.

good luck to all
