Hoytguy
How much does an arrow wrap affect the dynamic spine of an arrow shaft lets say out to 50 yards ??? Wrap weight being 8 grains.
hutchies
I'm not Tony but I will try to help...............8 grains in the rear is going to do very little to affect the spine. Most target guys don't use wraps because it brings down the FOC % on the arrow. If you are having strange flight out of an arrow and you suspect it is the spine.........Try putting a lighter tip in. That will stiffen the spine. Just make sure that you check to make sure your FOC is good.
Hoytguy
I do have a 10% FOC and my arrows fry great. I did try and look for a dynamic spine calculator online, but found one that is Excel oriented and didn't work worth a hoot. Most of the dynamic spine issues relate to mostly traditional shooters. Was wondering also if some or alot of target shooters take dynamic spine seriously ??
Tony
give me the numbers on your arrow specs and i wil run them through my arachers advantage program to check what a wrap will do to them. are these for hunting, 3D, indoor or field archery. i need arrow length and type, arrow weight, insert weight, nock weight, vane length and weight. tip weight in grains. you said th e wrap is 8 grs. i dont think the wrap will effect the overall spine, but it will slightly effect the FOC. to say how much depends on how cloe the arrw is to the borderline. Hoytguy
I believe it won't effect the static spine, but the dynamic spine in flight. I think it would be so minute, wouldn't bother with it. Only if shooting really long distances.....100 yards, but who's gonna be doing that. Mostly calculated for traditional equipment. I did find a dynamic spine calculator for this, but string options were d-50 or fastflight. Both used in traditional equipment. i'm not going to persue this...waste of time for what it's worth. Thanks for the offer though. Good Shooting !!! Mike
