buckmaster36
Is anyone out there having a tough year finding sheds? I usually average 30 - 40 sheds each year including 5 or 6 match sets, but have only found 5 fresh sheds this year. I just saw a young 4pt this morning with both antlers still. I'm in southwest Ohio by the way. Plenty of deer around, just can't find the bone! I guess you can't find 'em all

whitetailtrax
You obviously are a seasoned shed hunter and have been successful in the past, but one little bit of advice I give people is to SLOW DOWN! I have to tell myself that all the time!!!! Last year I walked right past a nice 5-point elk shed (10 yards away) and for some reason glanced over my shoulder just in time to see it before I totally missed it. I was walking way too fast! It is possible also that other shed hunters have stumbled onto your honey holes - competition is fierce anymore. Good luck to you the rest of this spring! toddyboman
Welcome to the forum! Keep at it.....You will find them sooner or later.....To find that many in previous years tells me know you where to look so keep at!! And when you do find some be sure to post some pics so we can all see em
Zambo
I think it has been a tough year for sheds also. However competition is at an all time high in our area. I have chased off several tresspassers this spring with one guy having several sheds in his hands. It is a problem. Just five years ago I averaged 30 - 35 sheds a year but now 15 - 20 is a good year. You just have to walk longer and look more to get the numbers now. Good luck and welcome to the forum.

Bowtech_archer07
I've found 1 antler this year and saw an 8 ptr with both sides of his rack this past weekend here in Central IL. I haven't been able to get out as much as I would like, but I've heard of a lot of people having a hard time finding bone this year.
