That is sad, could very easily happen here.

Lets hope one is far, far off in the future.

We are are somewhat familar with the big California zones.

The New Madrid fault would be bad and I am sure a lot of people could not even talk to the history of it nor locate it.

NYC has a big fault at 125th St in Harlem that sits on granite which if it goes, would be scary too. It is very visible fault. As you see the NY subway system run out of a tunnel then over the middle of V in the fault which drops down almost 100' from the center of the train track and then back into the tunnel on the other side.
