Ghilliesuit22
I had a Hoyt Magnatech and just recently sold it since my friend was selling his like new 2006 Hoyt Vtech. He went out and bought the new PSE X-Force. Anyways the Vtech is in really good condition, I know he took care of it. The cables were just replaced. There is a true glow three pin site on it. The bow needs to have a peep site and rest installed. I took the whisker biscuit off of my old bow as it is not even a year old. So that will just to be installed but the peep site will have to be purchased. I am pretty sure I need it to be set to my draw length. That is about all it needs. I guess I just want to know a good range in price for what it takes to do this. I feel like the prices are pretty steep at the shop I go to, although I trust their work. Any Ideas, I plan on buying new arrows to and I don't know if that will factor into them lowering their "setup" costs. I also don't think I need a tune up as the bow looks tip top and just had a new cable installed. I am thinking about buying the Beman MFX Team RealTree arrows. What do you think about set up cost? The reason I am asking is cause I am a college student, so price is definitely an issue. SET UP Purchase and install peep site. Install whisker biscuit. Set draw length. Tom2008
Well Hoyt bows generally don't have adjustable draw lenghts unless you change cams and possibly strings. They wouldn't be covered under warranty for you since your not the original owner. It might cost you around $100 just to get draw length changed. The new cams will be the spendy part and possibly strings. The rest of stuff shouldn't be to costly. Maybe around 20 to put on the rest, buy the peep, and get it installed. Oh and Welcome to Realtree. Hope this helps.
Tom2008
Go to this page and figure out what year your Hoyt is. The V tech is listed under 2005 and 2006 models. There is a tuning chart in there. That will tell you what string and cable lengths are needed for what draw lengths. http://www.hoyt.com/customer_service/hoyt_tune_charts.php
Arkansas Boy
at our local shop, that would run you $
ultratec1
The 2005 and 2006 V-tec came with cam.5 only. These are adjustable draw length cams. It should tell you on the lower limb the range of adjustment. As far as the installation of the other things it would probably cost you $20 at the local shop.
