GWSmith
There are all kinds of ways to get out of it I've heard people say...but Personally I always considered it a privelege to serve.

They are really picky about things like that. Good luck!
wtnhunt
Happy Birthday! :D LOL, sounds about like how my luck goes. Guilty! They are all guilty.... cops wouldn't have arrested them if they weren't guilty... :D Might make it just a little less likely to get picked. The only time I have ever gotten a notice for jury duty I reported, but never got called to serve.

hungry hunter
I had jury duty once, had to go in front of the judge to sign a waiver, when the judge stated "it is a honor and a prevlidge" so why did I not want to serve? I informed the judge that I was the arresting officer:D I got excused:cool:
LifeNRA
There are all kinds of ways to get out of it I've heard people say...but Personally I always considered it a privelege to serve. I spent 10 years running on an ambulance, was an EMT for nine of them years, 16 years with the city and county fire departments, with various fire fighters training. All volunteer too! I put my time in! Happy Birthday! :D Yeah really!!! :D Guilty! They are all guilty.... cops wouldn't have arrested them if they weren't guilty... :D LOL! Thats about how I feel too! don't vote but seriously, be careful what you write about it. They are really picky about things like that. Good luck! They don't bass there jury selection on voting only anymore, they have other options on how they get you now! LOL, sounds about like how my luck goes. Might make it just a little less likely to get picked. The only time I have ever gotten a notice for jury duty I reported, but never got called to serve. This is my fourth time called in, but was always excused on the first day! Not this time! I just got home and need to go back in for a third day!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!! Edited April 7, 2009 by LifeNRA
PA_Spike_King
I have been picked for a couple of jurys and they were very interesting and I'm glad I did it.
WIwhitetailhunter
I've never been summond for jury duty. It would be an experience though, I would think. Don't know if I'd get picked. Once the defense found out what I do for a paycheck, they may drop me.

Hoosierbuck
I can't stress how important it really is. We all joke about it, but this is one of the fundamental principles of our society. A bunch of those fundamentals are on the ropes right now, and you can help save this one, this time. Are the state and the defendant going to get as good a shake from the people sitting next to you? You could well be the man for the job. What if he's guilty as sin and you are the one who sees through the lawyer's smoke screen, and makes the world a safer place by swaying the rest? What if the dude was in the wrong place at the wrong time and it sure looked like he did it, but the prosecutor didn't have time to really review the case and he really isn't the shooter? Do it, and do it to the best of your ability. I'll applaud that, for sure. HB

redkneck
Did my time on the grand jury this year. Pretty interesting actually. PS-your getting hosed at $9/day. We got $40!!!
Tominator
I've only been picked twice. Once I got out of it because I wasn't a resident of the particular county anymore, the second time I petitioned the judge to be excused until the summer, he agreed, but a jury wasn't needed during that time, so I've never served. Adjam5
I have never served, but been called down twice. Get excused always for friends and family in law enforcement.
Swamphunter
I would love to sit on the jury and watch a trial of some guilty guy/girl play out. I never get picked though...neither does my wife.
Hoosierbuck
Me, too, Swampy. You know, no matter how good a cop and prosecutor are, unless they have a reasonable/unbiased jury to present the evidence to, none of the hard work is worth spit. LifeNRA
We are done! I guess after the 70 jurors the scumbag didn't like what he seen. Once your number was called, you were placed in another room. You had a paper to fill out, it was asked if first degree murder was the outcome, will you vote for the death penalty. I answered yes. I am quite sure a major amount of others said the same. So he now changed his plea! So for him, it now life in prison, with no chance of parole! Hopefully him and Bubba will be best friends!!!
