Guest TennesseeTurkey
Well Friday morning was interesting....Set up in a field because it had rained most of the day thrusday and some friday night. Didnt hear a bird until what I thought was fly down time and a hen softly started tree calling so I called back to her going back and fourth for 15 ins and she flys down 40 yards from me and my cousin in the field....called her within 10 feet of us and b-mobile before we finally shoo'd her off after 30 mins....Little did I know that was going to be the only bird I saw the whole trip....we left there to go on my uncles land....no birds....so we went fishin bout 2:30 ....sat morning we finally heard a gobbler at 8 but he was on another property and way too far to call him....same thing sunday morning....heard a bird on another property way too far off....and thats about it....good story eh? .... HUNTINGMAN
Sounds like you should have stayed in KY and waited for a couple more weeks.
Rhino
It was a strange stretch of days in there. I heard nothing gobbling from the roost Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. The only bird I heard Sunday was a bird roosted off our property. Of course you saw I located a gobbling bird during the mid morning hours Friday that worked out fine. He didn't gobble much though. Overall that 4 day stretch was pretty poor gobbling wise and the weather seemed to be near perfect Saturday. The weather conditions were terrible Sunday. Sorry they didn't want to play fair while you were down here.
