bigmoss
I got these this morning I am told they are real but have no confirmation yet. Moose Pic Taken Two Weeks Ago In McAdam, N.B. CANADA . . . This is a real picture - it is on a 4-wheeler trail taken by a tech from ADI on an environmental job

buckee
OH WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ttttttthhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaatttttttttt...... thing is BIG!!!!!!!!!!! DANG!!! I've seen some big moose in my life, but nothing near the size of that thing!!! What a monster, you could drive a truck underneath him! Yeah thats a tank for sure...... he's a big un'!!! second photo kinda looks photo shopped to me!?!? I'm looking for a shadow in that pic and I don't see any. If that is an actual picture...it would have to be a world record. It looks prehistoric it is soo big. ya see how his feet are in the same stop in the #2 pic like in the #1 pic That's the one I was looking for last fall. All we found was this guy. You really cant say much about that one besides WWWWWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW He looks like a barn in those photos. Maybe because he's on a walking trail and when I look at the photo I think he is walking on a road. You can see that the shadows change from one picture to the next. I agree, I think the trail is much smaller than we think it is. That is either the smallest gravel road in the universe, or the biggest moose in the galaxy...it looks like a freakin dinosaur with hair! Maybe its Bigfoots long lost dog... Thats Big ...WOW...tough drag.. LOL:) I agree, IMO............. that looks like a photoshop job  Nice Moose...look closely at the small immature trees in the pic on the left. I dont see it....what exactly am i supposed to see other than small immature trees? I'm not good at photohunt. Yes, that's for sure. That walking/atv trail fools your eyes and mind in that picture, making an already large moose look twice his size. Cool picture though.:D Thats what I was pointing out...the size of the branches and the small trees are correct. The size of the bulls legs are also in correct proportion to them. The size of the trail/road is what throws everyone off. The size of the background trees are also small(compared to his size). That indicates that they are also young though I'm not good at aging trees I'm sure other people with logging experience noticed that. None of them look to be "Old Growth" trees as far as I can tell. Everything put together and taken in thier normal context in my opinion just makes the bull look bigger than normal. Granted...My first reaction would have been to look down at my rifle and say: "My bullet is not big enough" then run like a sissy in the other direction:o:D I think that is Paul Bunyan's Blue ox in disguise Something is not right about that pic that photo is fake That pic looks deceiving and the second looks photoshopped. If they are real pics whoever took them was lieing on the ground. It is a big moose but not that big. Looking for a shadow doesn't help when the shade from the trees are on the ground too, but I'm going to have to say its photoshopped too. :D:D Just an update :D:D

aksheephuntress
:D:D Just an update :D:D ...-lol- you crack me up, Steve... -and yes, I will have to agree with Gary and Buckee... -the spruce, alder, aspen growth lining the trail makes the size of this moose deceiving... -also, just his body in relation to the rack makes me think he isn't as huge as it appears- -also, at least up here...-a lot of bull moose, as they mature and age past 5 or 6, sport a shorter bell, or dewlap... that is one long bell, though!- -I would definitely take this moose, if he were in an "any bull" area, ...and if all other legalities (and ethical calls)were considered first - I would'nt take him on that nice bike path, though...-would be legal here,but- not worth causing an uproar with the hikers/bikers etc. that would happen-chance upon the butchering session/gut pile (also, lingering bear attractant-) -If he were an area with a brow tine restriction (like here, in unit 7-KirkV and Catrina.....-we'll have plenty of time to go over that before this Aug.-), I would definitely hold off from taking a shot at that moose, to count brow tine.....to avoid a mistake by estimating that he possessed a rack of 50 inches or greater...(min. here, and in many Alaska GMU's...-unless min.number of brow tines on one side are met...) -this moose is a magnificent animal!.....he would provide such an abundance of meat that I would be tickled to death to harvest every morsel of- -I am very excited to see this thread, and the pictures.... ...I'm just very hesitant to say whether he is carrying a super-large rack....it just doesn't seem like it to me... -also, I thought kind of similiar as JimT...-seems like the photographer(or, more likely trail cam?)...is close to the ground- -again...-definitely not knocking, or trying to criticize this moose...-was a treat to see....!-my kids enjoyed it,too- -I always find it fun, and good practice, to try and guess sizes within different species-caused my brain to kick in gear and think moose!-thankyou, Bigmoss:)
