Heavy Metal
Yes!!! When I was in highschool (88-92) my dad took me to the Autolite Nationals in Sanoma, CA every year! My heros were Joe Amato, Don Prudone, Eddie Hill, Gary Ormsby (RIP) and my alltime favorite....Bob Glidden!!!! I was able to look past the "Ford" just for Bob. Now that we live in Indiana I'd love to take my boys to the race at Indy.
Tominator
I've wandered in the Kikersville area a few times, but I've never been to the actual events there. One time, there must have been perfect atmospheric conditions because I could hear them from my place. Kirkersville is about 15 miles from my place. JimT
No, but we go to the local dragway here a few times a summer. I go to watch the snowmobiles mostly. They crank on pavement!!

Strut10
T.V. just does not do it justice. The smell and sounds are unreal:eek: I could just imagine. And the NASCAR guys get all excited over cars that'll only go 180-200 mph and it takes them a mile or two to do it.
Swamphunter
I have been to an IHRA race, but never a NHRA. It was awesome. Very loud and very humbling to see how fast some of those vehicles can move.

Shaun_300
Never been to a NHRA drag race but love drag racing! When I was in college we'd go to the track in Shannonville, ON and watch the cars and trucks run. They also had some snowmobiles and top fuel dragsters there. One of my classmates had a little Honda Civic running low 12s in the 1/4! I'm more of a V8 man opposed to a 4cyl turbo man myself, but that little car would move! There's a track just across the river in Quebec not far from here. Plan on going over there a few times this summer to watch the drag races.
