Tom2008
I've been using my Trufire Hurricane from way back when, but I'm about to test out the new 2009 Edge and possibly use it as my new release. They look pretty slick.
Tom2008
Everybody is going to have thier personal favorites. From what you've said the ones you've had so far have got in your way while up in the perch. As far as I know theres a couple solutions to that. 1. Buy a release that has a swivel attachment point so you can tuck it up under your sleeve to get it out of the way. 2. Find one that attaches to the string of your bow that you dont have to continue to hold it. Consistency is always going to be a matter of being familiar with the release...when you've had and used one long enough that it feels like it's part of the Family you'll be consistent with it;) I personally like a Glove style release so the pull of the draw feels like it's more on my arm instead of my wrist. Trufire also makes a fold back release that will actually fold back away from your hand and stay in place. Works great while climbing in to the tree stand or just walking around. wtnhunt
Shoot an old tru fire x caliper release, have for several years. Since the wife took my spare when she started shooting, I think I may get a new one later this summer, will be another tru fire.

Arkansas Boy
i had a tru fire walmart cheapo until i went to get my draw length adjusted and forgot it. The pro shop I use had a tru ball caliper release that was painted blue. I put it on and loved the way it felt and shot. About a month later Dad and I left Arkansas to head over to memphis Bass Pro Shop. He got a Diamond Edge bow and I got a tru ball release. I love it, but need to shorten the tubing as I have small hands and have to wear it almost on my forearm!
johnf
I've got a Scott mongoose. It's the only one I've ever used, so I don't really have a reference. I do like it.

JimT
Look at getting a closed hook Thumb Trigger release. I hunt with a Truball Pro Diamond and I love it. I get in the stand and hook it on................When I'm ready I grab the handle. My other half uses this release. Just bought it actually. Very nice release. I am going to keep using my Scott Mongoose though. I like it alot...........
NYBowhunter71
I use a Carter Insatiable 3. It is a back tension/thumb trigger release. I clip it to the string while I'm in tree stand. Work great. Does take some getting used to if you only used trigger release before.
