Tea Party

I'll apologize ahead of time for the rant but I needed to vent this somewhere. Today in all congressional districts across the country, thousands of people are protesting out of control government spending and taxation. I wasn't able to get out of work, but I went online to check the news to see what was going on with it. I checked 5 websites of the major news organizations and only 1 had any coverage of it. I bet you can guess which one that is. One of them, which shall remain nameless, had nothing on this huge event but had a front page article about the Obama's dog meeting the press corp. Who freaking cares?!?! It seems like it is one big smoke and mirrors show and few seem to notice.

I know exactly what you mean! I bet Fox News was the only one covering it! I got news for you though, it is our patriotic duty to question and overthrough any government which infringes upon our rights and freedoms as stated by our Founding Fathers in the Declaration of Independence. The leftist liberals, yes the same people like BO with his CIA reports who call people like us conservative extremists, are afraid of this and I'm telling you right now it is about to happen! I, for one, am going to let my voice be heard and will be at the Tea Party here in Sioux Falls today. The liberals say that only a small unsatisfied minority aren't happy with our country and our president, but I've got news for them; 55 million (48% of voters) people voted against Obama and every single day more and more people that voted for him are realizing their mistake and are against him. We are no minority!

I saw that on the news this morning...I also saw that somewhere near the capital, there was going to be an ungodly amount of tea bags dropped off for the TEA party at that location...seriously...

My only thought was....who is paying for all that tea and what are they going to do with it after the party?

On another note...I couldn't agree with you both more!

Well said to the both of you!;)

Nope, nbc did give mention to the tea parties and also told how the secret service had to use a robot to remove a box of teabags thrown over the white house fence by protesters.:o Diversion?

Our local(nbc has about the best local coverage) news had quite a bit of coverage, and they did air some folks who expressed their dissatisfaction with the direction this admin is taking the country in.

It all started with Taxation without representation, but isn't it the same thing when the wishes of the masses are ignored by those in office. 80% of America said no to the bailout packages of the banks, GM, etc. What happens, they do it anyway and increase the federal deficit while lining their pockets even more. I say March on Washington!!!!!!!

As the day went on I did see other media outlets finally picking up the story. They must have waited for a certain amount of people turning up before they decided to do anything about it. I was watching MSNBC and CNN last night and they basically were making fun of the rallies and the people there. These fine folks took a day off of work to rally against something they strongly believe in, and the media were calling them right winged extremists and laughing at them over the other meaning of tea bag.

John Rich performed on Hannity last night and it was great. As they said on his show, this needs to be a starting point rather than a one time thing.

Communist News Network and Multiple Swearing Nonsense Bull Crap all portrayed it in a negative light, calling us malcontents and that it wasn't "family viewing".:mad: The only network that portrayed it in a positive light that I saw was Fox. Ted Nugent played the national anthem on his electric guitar at the San Antonio Tea Party at the Alamo! :D:D:D One thing is for sure, Americans have had enough and this won't end here! ;)

I live so far from any of the parties I wasn't able to attend. But I watched it on Fox and switched over to MSNBC's Keith Olberman for a few minutes to see if they were covering it. They were. They were calling the tea party attendees right-wing extremists and nut-jobs.

Isn't it amazing - when illegal immigrants or people-of-color protest (which usually turns into riots) and cause property damage to get their message across it's portrayed as an exercise of their civil rights. But, when people gather to voice their opposition to the Messiah's current policies, the spending that is going to cause a rise in taxes and a bankrupting of the country, or who oppose the direction our country is headed - and who don't riot or cause property damage - they are right-wing extremists and nut-jobs.

They keep discounting a large portion of the U.S. population who are law abiding decent people. And I believe that's why. They won't actually cause too much trouble. So what if they demonstrate. Fox News put them up to it. So they are basically mindless and not to be taken seriously. Looks like nothing much will come of this so far. Too bad. On the other hand military vets seem to scare the crap out of them.:D And we're going to run Mexico's drug interdiction? This is getting weirder all the time.
