c_lou
Are you on a bicycle? 38 miles is one heck of a long haul. I get tired after 2 or 3 miles.

Heck I dont think I I could go 5 miles without having someone come pick me up off the side of the road passed out!!! HAHAHAHAHA
m gardner
Probably you need to take something like Gatorade G-2 with you. Also when you get older your body can't absorb calcium like it used to and you get cramps. I drink EAS Myoplex after training too which helps. I just got through with 5miles on the jogging path myself. Not bad for a wrinkly white haired guy with no teeth. (It's hard to pant with dentures in. ) It's do that or die of a heart attack during elk season. I'm glad I have incentive to stay in shape. Keep up the good work rookieee. Tominator
I imagine that section of Fla. is pretty flat, but even so, that's a haul if you don't ride on a regular basis. That long of a ride and you better pay attention to wind direction too. Headwind on the way back, and that might spell pain.
The_Kat
When I was a kid my friends and I rode bikes all day long.....still, I don't think we ever got close to 38 miles! Holy smokes man!

wtnhunt
When I first started reading and saw 38 miles I was thinking bike like motorcycle, Frank. That is a long ways to peddle a bike. Good way to stay in shape, please be careful though buddy.

stevebeilgard
yep, you're getting old. but, the other option is worse so just cut your miles down... lol. anyway, a large part of your cramping is most likely due to not enough fluids. next time you get the urge to paddle all those miles get a quart or 2 of gatorade, water, or whatever and head out. keep sipping the fluids and your cramp will most likely not come back. Doe-ee
You made it all the way there and got the cramp on the way back?? Doing more than 19 miles is quite an accomplishment already! Slap yourself on the back man!!
Shaun_300
38 miles on a peddle bike?! Gee whiz, I don't think I could do that and I'm only 22 years old!
mike13candace
Old? I try to keep in shape working out and riding 10-15 miles a day (depending on weather in the northeast) ..as each year passes it does get harder to recuperate..
