Probably you need to take something like Gatorade G-2 with you. Also when you get older your body can't absorb calcium like it used to and you get cramps. I drink EAS Myoplex after training too which helps. I just got through with 5miles on the jogging path myself. Not bad for a wrinkly white haired guy with no teeth. (It's hard to pant with dentures in. :D) It's do that or die of a heart attack during elk season. I'm glad I have incentive to stay in shape. Keep up the good work rookieee.

Dude I think with anyone that goes 38 miles on a bike is crazy!! and that by no means you are old!! Heck I dont think I I could go 5 miles without having someone come pick me up off the side of the road passed out!!! HAHAHAHAHA

I just to ride every day during the summer time last year and had no trouble doing it ,and its a real nice ride you get to see plenty of wild life at the park,so i will try again this afternoon

When I first started reading and saw 38 miles I was thinking bike like motorcycle, Frank. That is a long ways to peddle a bike. Good way to stay in shape, please be careful though buddy.

Thanks William its a fairly save ride from my house to the park theres a bike pass and i live far from the city so traffics is all must zero.

yep, you're getting old. but, the other option is worse so just cut your miles down... lol. anyway, a large part of your cramping is most likely due to not enough fluids. next time you get the urge to paddle all those miles get a quart or 2 of gatorade, water, or whatever and head out. keep sipping the fluids and your cramp will most likely not come back.
