VermontHunter
Here's the deal guys/Gals the wife has fronted me the money for a new sight for my Alpine Bow. This is what I am looking at...... Copper John Dead Nuts Sight 3-pin LH - hardwoods All metal sight with a direct mounting system and .029 fiber pins. It has 3 pins that are gang adjustable for height and windage. This sight is priced for $59.95 at Keystone. Is this a good price or should I be shopping around for a better price ??......Should I wait and see if something better happens along ??? I'm not against something like this that's used and in good shape if someone has one and doesn't want a arm and a leg for it...so let's here people... tedicast
Re: New Sight That seems like a fairly decent price. Could check ebay, but being that you are looking for a left hander....it will be harder to find there.
TreeStandBowHunter
Re: New Sight I'll tell you what, I have a Trophy Ridge. However, I keep looking at that Dead Nuts sight. I like how the pins are and how they are set up. I might switch soon Really though, I like the set up of the dead nuts. The question is though do I part with my Trophy Ridge
VermontHunter
Re: New Sight I really never part with any equipment that I take off my Bow, UNLESS someone is really in need of it and then I would only give it to them.... I hear ya TSBH I keep bouncing back and forth between the Dead Nuts, Trpohy Ridge and Spott Hogg...but I always seen to come back to this sight for some reason... tedicast
Re: New Sight [ QUOTE ] I keep bouncing back and forth between the Dead Nuts, Trpohy Ridge and Spott Hogg... [/ QUOTE ] VH... I have no experience with a Spott Hogg, but after comparing a Trophy Ridge, and a CJ side by side. the CJ is a much better built sight. I don't like the plastic pin gaurd on the TR at all. VermontHunter
Re: New Sight This is one aspect of the TR that really turned me off...but hear of alot of people using one, but I don't won't one just because others are using it...I want a good dependable sight that everyone thinks is well built and user friendly.... ScottyLuck
Re: New Sight I 've had the CJ Deadnuts on my last 2 bows. It's a great sight. very durable. Not the brightest in low light conditions. I believe the new TR sights have the metal pin guards. With my new Switchback I'm shooting with one pin out to 30yds so I'm gonna be looking for a single pin sight.
TreeStandBowHunter
Re: New Sight Vermonthunter...I BLAME YOU See I forgot about the CJ until you made a post about it I think I might order mine tomorrow and stop fooling around with it. Like I said, I like my TR but I think I will like the CJ better. Thanks alot VH...thanks a lot
tedicast
Re: New Sight VH... at the show in PA yesterday, I came across sights made by Viper. I was very impressed with the quality, and the brightness of the sights. Downfall is they are a bit more pricey that a CJ. I am definately trying one of these in the near future. here is a link to Viper Archery Products website I was looking at the REALTREE® CAMO PREDATOR HUNTER SERIES SIGHT, and that is what I'm pretty sure I'm gonna get. VtBowhunter
Re: New Sight Vermont, I'm looking at the CJ, also. When they say all metal they mean it. Even the pins are metal and that means it's a rugged sight for sure.

What I said was that the viper sight looks nice but it looks like something you would put in a glass case and show off instead of using it for fear that it might get scratched Looks too nice to use BTW MODS, where did that post ever go anyway. Bow Hunter Derek
Re: New Sight I've been shooting a C.J. for about 3 years and have absolutely no complaints. I would caution you though. I'd wait a month or so right now to buy one. C.J. is releasing a couple new sights. They already released one at ATA, but word is that in the coming month there will be two or three new models out. Rumor has it that they will have micro adjustment features for the same price range as the old Dead Nuts sights. So, personally I'd wait. For a very similar sight at a very reasonable price (around $50), you might check out the new sight by Carolina Archery (the Wisker Buisket people). It is NICE. Micro adjust with no tools. Very well built. And priced right. I'm going to put one on my back up bow in the next week or two just to play with. I've had my hands on this sight at my local shop. It is sweet. VermontHunter
Re: New Sight Darn it don't this figure, Got a call this morning from Keystone on my sight order....CJ has discountinued this model in Realtree Camo, so I had to go for the MossyOak or the straight black,,,,,,,I want a camo sight so I had no other option but to go with Mossy Oak...Isn't this just my luck...
