Picture of me is from a friend. Spring run Brown on a Rapala Photo Op
Leo
Nice! Glad you got the boat going for the year already. Looks like you're starting it off good.
92xj
great pics as always. You also have a sweet rig setup. What size weights are you using, or does the pole in the rod holder on the back have a fish on it?

ruttinbuc
Thanks guys! Yes, I got that boat in 1999. I bought it to run a lot the river with the jet pump on the back. It is a flat semi modified v that gives me a better ride on the lakes and reservoirs. Sort of like two boats in one for my types of fishing. great pics as always. You also have a sweet rig setup. What size weights are you using, or does the pole in the rod holder on the back have a fish on it? I have 10# balls on the downriggers to keep the weight at the depth the fish are swimming, Ben. The pole is just tensioned up against the release. The fish hits the lure and sets the hook as the line releases and snaps up the pole. What kind of depth is in that river where you are fishing?
ruttinbuc
gotcha, I have never done that type of fishing, so I wasnt sure. What kind of depth is in that river where you are fishing? At that spot there the river is 13 feet deep. The fish were swimming at 2 feet off the bottom. There are spots where the depths can reach 20+ feet. The fast current is the reason for the heavy ball. Helps them swim at the true depth on the meter. Same holds true trolling at speed. I have the electric downriggers for the reservoir and lake fishing where you can fish at depths to 90 feet. Dakota
Man, that is so cool, Mike! I love trout fishing, but the majority I catch where I go are rainbows. Dakota
