Guest Squirrelbuster
Re: Kee-Kee run and Gobbling Thanks for the info, but on a predator hunting video by Knight and Hale (Calling all Coyotes) a guy said to say wee into a diaphragm call to produce a rabbit in distress call. Is there a difference?

dartonman
Re: Kee-Kee run and Gobbling If you make a looooong weeeeee sound on a diaphram, it sounds like a wounded rabbit.....thats what they were discussing.......if you were to use a kee kee call in the spring, you would have no luck...it is a distressed/lost young bird, checking in and calling for help to the flock to locate each other....in the fall, if you bust up a flock, you use a kee kee to get them to regroup in gun range.....the gobble call is hard on a mouth call, I cant help you with this, but let me WARN you buddy, its DANGEROUS to use a gobble call in the spring, thats how hunting accidents occur.....be safe first....have a great day.....hope this helps..........al
Covehnter
Re: Kee-Kee run and Gobbling Springtime Kee Kee's are not as rare as most think. . . and i've found it very effective on some of the most stubborn public land birds out there. To make a realistic kee kee it is rather difficult on a diaphram, therefore its not used as much by other hunters which adds to its effectiveness. This is not to say go aroud kee keeing the woods up in the spring but i've found it'll turn some heads that otherwise were headed the other way. To make the sounds you need to be using a clear diaphram that doesnt hold much rasp, higher pitched. Start by putting moderate pressure on the reeds and making 3-4 wee, wee, wee sounds then dropping your tongue off sharply and adding a couple soft yelps to the end. That should have it.
