Buckmaster2510
Last October, I bought some new camo clothes. I used them throughtout the hunting season, and they are starting to fade pretty quick. I usually washed them after a weekend hunting trip. I used a scent destroying soap by hunters specialties. Why are they fading so quickley? The camo is Red Head- RealTree AP HD
layin on the smackdown
That could depend on how many weekend hunting trips you went on...If you washed them every weekend, or close to it, that could be the problem...I usually only wash my hunting clothes once a month during the season...after each hunt i seal them up in a huge ziplock bag to keep unwanted odors away from them...spray down before going out...repeat process... I havent had a fading problem in a long time...
RTPROFamily
I wash Randy's hunting clothes every time he wears them especially in hot weather using scent free laundry soap(any brand will work). I wash all camo wrong side out that helps to reduce fading. I also hang them to dry instead of using the dryer when possible. It may also be the brand of clothing, some clothing fades right away and some keeps their color a long time. Whitewater clothing really keeps its color. Randy has some pieces that are 4 years old washed almost every day and little or no fading. I then put them in a scent-lok bag or an airtight container. Adjam5
Washing machines try real hard to agitate and get the dirt out of the clothes. I use gentle cycles , wash inside out ( like Darla has said:)), scent free detergents and air dry whenever possible. I also store them in a big airtight tub that I throw a few handfuls of leaves in there for cover scent. After hunting, I leave my exterior clothes outside and wash only after a month or so, unless I get blood all over something:D. If the fading is too out of hand, contact the manufacturer for a replacement, many in the hunting business are good about stuff like that. wtnhunt
Wash inside out. Use of most detergents designed for hunting clothing will be less damaging in way of fade than regular detergents, I like a wash from cabelas and also the sportswash from atsko. Might also have been the fabric of the garment that you bought, some clothes/materials will not hold their color as well. Personally not really a fan of bass pros lines. buckee
I wash mine in cold water/warm rince, using only baking soda ...always. I get quite a few years out of them.
dbHunterNY
Use gentle cycle inside out ...hang dry only..scent free soap.. Same here but my scentblocker camo i have to put in the dryer. Otherwise it wouldn't work the way it's supposed to.

mossyhorn
I only wash mine when needed....I dont like washing my camo much but usually once before season, once before the rut, and sometime near the end. To keep them from stinking "like me" I smoke them up about once every two weeks. Camp fire smoke works as cover scent that is if you are hunting in an area where people burn wood late in the year. I also use some scent killers before heading out and a little when I get into my stand. Other then that I just put my camo away in a tub to keep the dogs away. As for turkey camo it gets washed more often because well it is hot and I smell very bad after a day of chasing turkey.
crazyfarmer
im late replying, but I wash all of my camo inside out. Seems to get you another good year out of your plain camo pants. As far as my outter scent lok clothing, I only wash those about once per month unless its needed before then. With base layers and under armor its about impossible for your outer clothes to get smelly from sweat and etc. Come to think of it, all I did for my scent lok pants was put them in the dryer 5-6 times during the whole season. They never needed washing and the camo looks brand new after 2 years of use.
randyoitker1
Randy Oitker teams up with Tink's 69!! I want everyone to know that Tink's 69 has teamed up with me as one of my new sponsors. I am excited working with a company that I have been familiar with ever since I started hunting. Tink's 69 was the very first deer lure that I used. I have been around the block since then using a lot of different products on the market. I am glad I will be working with America's best. I want to thank Tink Nathan and Terry Rohm for making it possible.
