fly
Earlier this turkey season Rhino posted a story and pics of a bird he took with the help of a gobbler call. His tactic was put to good use and resulted in this fine looking bird! This gobbler flew off the roost and was hung up about 75-100 yards away. He strutted back and forth for about 20-30 minutes. He was not coming closer. Some might use the tactic of silence or continued clucking/purring/etc... However, Rhino's strategy of using a jake call did the trick. That gobbler couldn't stand the thought of a jake getting together with his hens and came strutting in planning to pound the jake decoy. He never made it. Beard: a thick 10 inchesSpurs: about an inch eachWeight: 19 lbs.Age: Likely a 3 year old Thanks Rhino!

Flintlock1776
That is how I got my best turkey ever back in 2001. I also used the gobble call with my other calls to pull a big one in that I took this past Saturday!

Eric
What is a Jake call? I am basically a novice at turkey hunting. Thanks Eric
fly
What is a Jake call? I am basically a novice at turkey hunting. Thanks Eric The Primos Gobbler shaker call can be used as a jake or gobbler call. By simply shaking it with one hand the sound is more like a jake than a mature gobbler. Difficult to describe the difference, I'd say the jake sound is higher in pitch. http://www.cabelas.com/prod-1/0044655222295a.shtml
