First is a customer coyote I just finished up, very nice color on that dog.

This one is for the same customer, but this one is just a decoy he had me do for hunting. Sorry for the poor picture.

he is still drying too.

And finally, this was my first shot at an open mouth mount. turned out ok, but theres alot I'd do differently on the next one.

Curious as to what all that would be?

Hope you don't mind a bit of critisism but all I see that jumps out is the heavy lipstick job? Could be my monitor settings??

This was her first open mouth mount. The lips were the main flaw with it. She is hoping to improve with the next one she does with a little help from some experts. ;)

well, the bottom jaw is close to what it should be, although I'd like to lighten the color a bit more. Its the top lip that is way off, it should be showing but I had a hard time with the form/jawset. Next time I will work with it more so the form will allow me to tuck the lips out of sight better.

Ive got two more coyote capes to do, so Ill practice on them :)

thanks for all the comments everyone!

I wasn't trying to be overly critical so I hope you didn't take it that way. Your mounts look great.

The more I see how taxi's are not so willing to show off their work, I believe they hold on to their secrets and believe there is nothing more to be learned.

When you do the work yourself ,it's easy to pick apart the flaws you know are there, but if an outsider can see them it gives you more room to improve on the skills you allready posess long as you don't take it personally.

Your mounts look anotomically correct, and I'm looking forward to seeing you progress in your field of expertise and maybe throw a few tips and tricks our way!;)

Think in all honesty the last mount(open mouth mount) looks better than the other two. Everything about it from the eyes to the facial expression just looks more real even with the lip detail.

The first one looks like a lot of mounts I have seen, the face to me for some reason just does not look quite right. Maybe it is the pose or maybe it is just the pic but it almost looks like it is looking cross eyed. I have seen a lot of yotes and never seen one look like that.

Think the second mount looks fine from the pic you posted.

thanks guys, I appreciate the critiques. If I dont hear the negative, I wont have a chance for improvement.

wtnhunt ~ The yote just looks cross eyed in the picture, if you look at it head on they are set right...I cropped a different picture, but still doesnt show it the best.

the second yote I didnt put as much effort into. The guy wanted me to make him a decoy for hunting, his exact words "dont put too much time into it, as long as it slightly resembles a yote, Ill be happy" ...some decoy though if you ask me :)

all of these yotes were slipping when I got them, haha the part of the belly on the first one has been replaced, and the tail on the second one is a replacement as well.
