Last night I went for a walk up back to listen for birds which was cut short by heavy clouds rolling by and rumbles of thunder. So I run back home, lol, and I stop to water the chickens and as I come out of the pen, this metal bowl in my hand bumped the electric wire we have to keep out foxes and well:eek::eek::eek: The bowl went flying and I'm like AAHHHH! I felt it hit my hand then come out my bicep, I had a little red mark on my hand and a little red mark on my bicep to prove it:D

Stupid electric fence....:o:p;)

Oh,I've got scars from helping a ""friend"" mend some of his fence.1st why someone would use barbed wire for their hot wire i don't know:confused:,but he thought it would be a hoot to plug the box back in while I had a hold of it :eek:.Don't know which hurt more the voltage or the barbs, but I have to admit I never saw anyone run as fast as him when he saw me coming at him with fence pliers.

Not much fun getting bit!! It got me once when I was removing a metal switch cover ( no the power wasn't off:eek:, dumb, dumb, dumb) and the wires were left long and I made contact. It didn't let go of me right away either. Felt like I had done 30 sets of wrist curls. Felt like that for hours!

Glad you're okay!!

Been hit maybe just a few times by electric fences.:o The one we have for our pasture is pretty bad, would not want my kids to get hit by it, think the weedclipper makes it worse with the way it pulses. It is a different kind of hit than household current or 220. And yes they can leave burns.

Last time I got hit, I was tilling in the garden(very well grounded):o:eek: and forgot it was on,:o lesson learned there.;)

LOL Sorry, but watching people hit electric fences is freakin' hilarious!!! That reminds me of the time I was hunting doves at the grove my grandpa rented and ran cattle in. We had just gotten checked by a sorta cocky game warden at the end of shooting light, and everyone was on the way out. When we got to the fence by the road(that I had helped Grandpa put up merely 1 week before), he used the butt of his gun to push it down a bit, and started stepping over it, then got zapped by about a 125 mile fencer. Once on the other side, he looked at us with wide eyes and said "Don't touch that, boys, that fence is hot!" It took everything I had to keep from crackin' up and laughing my butt off. I sooo wanted to say "Yep, just put it up last week, and when I checked it, it was putting out about 7000 volts!"
