clrj3514
i got a question. i took my new clubs out today and was hitting about 150 yards w/ my driver. is that good for just starting out?
The_Kat
I'd say it isn't bad considering your age and your first time swinging the clubs. I hit around 220 avg...maybe a lil less.
Jorden
Are you new to golfing? If you are ya that is pretty good. I have been golfing my whole life pretty much and my average drive is not much more than 200 or so yards and I consistanly golf in the mid to low 80s for 18 holes. It all depends how strong you are and how good your swing is.
mike
Its not how far you hit it bud, its hitting what your aiming at that counts. I can hit a driver out to 300 yrds and get my rear kicked by the old timers that hit it 150 yds straight down the pipe everytime. Accuracy before distance grasshopper:D:D
Shaun_300
I agree with Mike here, it doesn't matter the distance you get. Worry about hitting them straight and practicing your aiming at before you try and work on distance. If you smoke it 250 into the trees and hit it 150 onto the fairway, you'd want to take the 150 over the 250. 150 is just fine, especially for a beginner! MCH
I average around 250-275 or so....but very seldom is it in the fairway.
Guest Finn
Dont worry about distance, worry about hitting it solid. The distance will come later if you are. Keep at it.
Randy
I tried golfing once and I shot a 90!! I was so excited cause that is a pretty good score. The guys I was with said after 10 strokes you just write down 10. Apparently the 90 is only good for 18 holes and not just 9.
hungry hunter
drive for show and putt for dough:D:D, hitting 150 for beginer is good, keep on enjoying the game. I have been golfing for 20 + years and never broke 100. But i do enjoy hitting the ball.
muggs
If you're hitting it straight, that's a lot more important than getting good distance right now. Distance will come as your swing improves. More body turn will give you more distance.
