The Kid
well we had a good hunt this morning needless to say we called in 6 hens and four 9 inch beared gobblers, well when she went to shoot her 12 gauge at the turkeys all we heard was a click (the gun is loaded and the safety is off), now this happen to her dad my uncle and his 10 gauge last year,, its never happen to me before but what could be the cause of this?? jbeck
I had an Over under that did the same thing, firing pin spring got weak. Took it to a gun smith and he put a new spring in. Works great.
Strut10
Just a guess........but.......... Sometimes, when it's dark and you're trying to be extra quiet, you ease the action open and closed when loading and it does not cock the gun. My guess too, that or just need to take the gun and give it a REAL good cleaning.
fly
Remingtons will do this if the firing pin and bolt are not cleaned well. Happened to me deer hunting once.
The Kid
The gun was loaded correctly and he cleans he guns very often the only thing we can think of is that the lube that he uses over the time of a year gets sticky and doesn't allow the fireing pin to correctly fire.
