Turkeygirl
First of all I'm changing the gobbler's name to Gulley Gobbler....I did hear some gobbles but not until between 7 and 8am...way down between the ridges.....I got off the ridge where I was and covered a couple hundred yards....he gobbled a few times at something and that was it...didn't see him or hear him again. What's funny is I heard a vehicle drive the road up above, next thiong I know they honk their horn! The bird gobbled a few seconds later....then as I was making my way towards him, I heard a few more gobbles and that was it. Didn't see anyone else in the area I was hunting....heard some vehicles driving on the roads and when I left the woods and drove a few of the roads, saw 3 vehicles park in 3 different spots...that's about it....So here's to hoping this bird is back tomorrow morning where he was, which it seems he is staying on this one ridge near the creek....Alot of the birds must be henned up...not much gobbling going on that's for sure... Strut10
It's a long season. As long as you don't get too much "help" from others........you oughta end up with this dude in your sights at some point. Seems you've done your homework. Turkeygirl
Hope so...I'll be heading back in the AM but this time park down by the creek...found it is relatively open so easy to walk in and quiet and see if I can be in a better spot to intercept him....unless I hear a bird up behind the house tonight...
