BowJoe
The thing that really sticks out in my mind is how the guy blocked you in. I wonder if he knows that's a form of False Imprisonment - "Any intentional detention of the person of another not authorized by law is false imprisonment." You can't keep someone from leaving. I applaud your reaction and as everyone knows, you didn't become a Pro Staff Member of Realtree by being stupid. Good job and we have lots of public land you can turkey hunt here in Southern Illinois. Lots of uneducated birds down here since we have only been able to hunt them for a few years now. Good luck in the future.
wtnhunt
After minutes they both show up Thankfully he said yes I told him to go ahead but if someone was here not go in. I said yes thats what I told them. Long story short even though the owner told me to go ahead he had to get with other members and get their ok.....I didnt know about that all in all it was straightened out .............I shook the landowners hand said sorry for the mixup and shook the members hand too,but he was clearly still hot under the collar. Sometimes even though you go in do the right thing it can come back on ya . I think Ill stick to my land from now on, not worth the headache I have heard that here from our game officials Tim. If you have a lease that states that you are managing the hunting on said property, the landowner in some cases gives up that right to have any control over who can or cannot hunt on their property when they lease it out to you. I could probably have kind of seen this both ways in all honesty. I mean if it was your lease that you were paying for and some guy was on the property and to the best of your knowledge the person did not have permission from anyone in your club, you might also get a little hot, I know I would. Unfortunate for you that the landowner did not know the rules, sounds like a something was learned by both you and the landowner.
