Orion_70
Anyone have a current blue book? I've been looking to buy a Sig 229 .40 cal and have recently found several Sig certified pre owned. I haven't seen any of those for a while now, but it seems to be a bunch out there at the moment. No night sights, 1 mag, std finish, no rail, prices I've found around $600.. Good deal? I'm about to drop the hammer on one I think Edited May 1, 2009 by Orion_70
stcif
I can't tell you what they are worth used but I can tell you I paid $625.00 brand new sometime around 1996 or so. The .40 was a new round and they were hard to get. Seems to me $600.00 for a used one is a little steep.
m gardner
It sounds a bit pricey. I think you can get a new one for $750.00 or so and they were offering a free holster and flashlight as a rebate which may still be available. I saw a used one in 9mm that was in perfect condition internally but had been carried alot and the shop wanted $450.00 for it. You can't go wrong with Sig though. I still can't get mine to malfunction. Make sure you get a model that the 22 LR conversion is available for so you can practice cheaply. They go for about $320.00 here. Orion_70
I better do a little more looking. Online prices I've found all start around 600 and go up from there. I'll check some of the local shops around and see what's available. I think I only paid $425 for my P220 2 yrs ago

hungry hunter
The Sig 229, is a good weapon, pricey both used and new. for the difference I would just get new if it is pratable. I have carried one on duty for 10 years now the only beef I have with it is in Florida you had better keep it oiled cause it likes to rust around the area of the backstrap. m gardner
Saw one for a little over $900.00 dollars last night. It came with 3 mags ,mag pouches and a holster though. Wow, this is getting out of hand. Mark
