Dakota
Well, The score is upwards of...well heck...I've lost count but it's overwhelmingly in the turkey's favor! I think it is something like 1-1 in WY and 10-0 here in SD. In WY I missed a monster gobbler and then smoked a beautiful hermaphrodite the next morning, April 13th. That bird is at the taxidermist and I decided to hit the woods hard here in SD. These birds have been giving me the run around and, to top it off, Thursday (the last day of the shotgun season east of the Black Hills) my vehicle broke down on the interstate and there went my last chance at filling my shotgun tag that has taken me four years of applying to draw! I'll probably be married and have kids before I draw that tag again! Well, I have through May 17th for my statewide archery tag and my Black Hills shotgun tag, though I know I will never be able to make it out to the Hills to fill it. I'll still be hunting that same spot with the bow, but my chance will drastically decrease. Dakota

Covehnter
If there is one thing thats killed more gobblers than any other its persistance/determination! Keep after them, at least dont give them a chance to rest til the season is out. . . .make'em earn there right to survive the spring. Thats what I always tell myself when things arent going in my favor.
