Strut10
What a 1st week of gobbler season it's been. Aside from the fact that I should have just pulled the freakin' trigger on Wednesday and filled out tag #1 on a monster, hawg rope. Nevermind that. I just can't remember having the Super X2 in "condition go" so many times in one week and not gassing on it at least once. This whole week's been a rash of one fired-up bird after another coming uncorked, coming almost in then shutting up and/or moving off. Happened to me twice today. Twice I got in on a bird.....one gobbling on his own, one I struck.......set up, cranked him up tight, had him close the distance to well under 100 yards, then crap out on me. Starting to make me feel like I never did this before. Oh, well.......back to work Monday. I'll have all week for the boys to start missing me. Will try to lower the boom again next Saturday. Squirrelhunter91
Strut.. I had the same thing happen to me this morning. I had one on the roost fly down to about 50 yards away, then walk away from me. He gobbled twice on the ground then shut up the rest of the morning. They all gobbled good on the roost. Then once they hit the ground, instant lockjaw.
