buckee
ok here some more whats your fav. thing to do ? and it cant be hunting or fishing lol I guess it would be art. I like painting, carving, and arts & crafts also. I like photochopping pictures of my friends too. how did you find out about realtree? Back in 2001/2002 I had a bad back injury that kept me from working for almost a whole year. Being home-bound, I just started looking for things on the Internet. Of course my favourite camo has always been Realtree, and I've been a hunter all my life, so it didn't take me long to find this place, and register. I'm an unpaid volunteer Pro-staffer :D if you could meet anyone who would it be? Jesus in the flesh. I already know him in the Spirit. what you doing tomorrow? a few painting estimates what all do you hunt? I used to hunt ducks and geese alot, but gave it up, only because around here they sit and feed in the salt water too much, and smell and taste like fish. For every 5 I shot, only one would taste half descent, so I gave it up. No sense shootin em, if ya can't eat em. The geese aren't too bad sometimes. I love hunting deer, and any other big game when I get the chance. I've shot 3 bears in my hunting career, but since my wife won't eat them, I don't bother with them any more. do you fish? I used to fish alot, but haven't for a long time. Heck, I even used to be a commercial fisherman (Troller, Gillnetter and Halibut long-liner deckhand.) I should get out there someday, because I do miss it. what kind of music do you listen to? I like some rock, some Country, Bluegrass, blues and some Jazz. what kind of music do you hate? Headbanger stuff and Rap how many bones have you broken ? Just my ankle what was your first car? I forget the make..it was an antique I never even drove it. I was going to fix it up, but ended up selling it. what was your first truck? 1972 Ford F250 ok ill have some more but not right now lol I know you will :p:p Biggest Regret? Doing drugs when I was young:o:o:( If you had one thing to ask the Lord, what would it be? Why did you make me? I feel so insignigant at times. Do you remember the painting you sent me a few years back? It is still hanging up at my parents house to this day. That was the most memorable thing I've recieved from anyone on this forum. Yes I do, and I'm so glad it's still hanging somewhere You remember when I called you dad lol? Yes, I do Son There were a few folks in here, that actually believed I was your Dad, for a while there..LOL:D Do you remember the old chat days and the term.....ehhhish? Guest TennesseeTurkey
How did the name buckee come about? What is your first ever hunting story? What was your favorite tv show/radio program when you were a kid? Have you got any kids? (excluding Kyle )
buckee
How did the name buckee come about? When I was a logger, years ago I work for a guy called Buck Peterson. He was the best boss I have ever worked for. When I joined the forums, for some reason his name came to mind, and since I love hunting, "Buckee" was a natural for me. What is your first ever hunting story? My first ever hunting story that stands out in my mind, I have never told, because no-one believes me. I went out Bunny hunting with my Dad and his friend Earl one day. I was around 8 years old. We saw a cottontail sitting under a big tree, and Dad said to Earl, "Let's see if we can catch this one, instead of shooting it". So we left Earl standing there to distract the bunny, and we snuck (my word for sneaked ) around behind the tree, which took a while to do, and Dad told me to just sneak in there, slowly reach around, and quickly grad the rabbit. So, I did I had to whack it against a tree while it was squealing, to kill it, but I was pretty proud that I caught it with my bare hands. I've done it a few times since also, but, no-one believes it, so I just keep that one to myself. What was your favorite tv show/radio program when you were a kid? I loved watching the 3 stooges, Hawaii 50, and Dragnet. I also loved "The Shadow" on the radio. Have you got any kids? (excluding Kyle ) Yes, I do. buckee
What is the biggest fish you have caught? 350 lb Halibut, but it was commercially We call them "Grunts", because it takes 3 guys with gafs and alot of grunting to get them aboard :D I've caught lots of salmon though. These are small ones. What is the biggest deer you have killed?I guess antler-wise it would be my 5x5 Blacktail. (made it into the Vancouver Island record book:)) Weight-wise it would have been a 6x4 whitetail I got just west of Osoyoos, BC in a place called Rock Creek. A great place to hunt both Mulies and Whities. 5x5 Blacktail 6X4 Whitie why did you stop being a mod? Too much stress. With my Cancer, I had enough stress in my life. That's my story and I'm sticken to it. what did you get voted on here when we were picking mr sexy realtree?Hey, hey now ... buckee
Ok Steve.........since nobody asked yet........ How did you meet your wife Diana and how long did you date before getting hitched? How many years have you been married and what is your key to a long and successful marriage....hmmm?? Maybe Diana can chime in here too Diana was and is my first high school sweetheart. (I did have a few...LOL;)) When we were dating, I used to walk about 124 miles per week just to see her. She lived way out in the country, and I live just outside the village of Chippawa. I spent more time with her Dad, when I went to visit, than I did her...LOL. We dated for one school year, and she split up with me. I always thought she had another boyfriend and that was why. She denies it though Anyway .. We broke up, and I ended up going out with another girl from school, who I ended up getting pregnant, and so I got married. In the meantime, Diana also got married. My marriage lasted 6 years, and I had 2 children, Troy and Stacey. My first wife Sue and I never really got along too well, and our relationship was always on the edge. But, I take a lot of the blame for that, because I was a jerk, drank too much, and put my friends first.:o Anyway, long story short, My first wife and I split up, and I was a Bachelor for a while One day, my buddy and I went to a laundromat, which my buddy was managing at the time, and Diana was there, doing her laundry. I always did carry the torch for her, and was really happy to see her, but...she was married. Unhappily married, but married. About 1 year later, she became a widow, and that is how we got back together. The rest is history ...We have been together now for 32 years. We've had our ups, and we've had our downs, but the biggest secret or Key I can attribute to a successful marriage is Love, forgiveness and Jesus. Without either, I dread to think where I'd be today. Now..aren't ya glad you asked :D Edited May 5, 2009 by buckee
