waterfowler
I shot a half breed duck last year and thought it was a mallard/gadwall cross but it has a white patch on it with black spots around its neck.
RTF
Never seen anything like that in my life. Is it wild ?
waterfowler
It's wild. I shot it in MI.
coles
im thinking it could be mixed with maybe a pintail or a black duck. Ive seen pics of a mallard/pintail mix but it didnt look quite like that. cool duck though

Shaun_300
That is really neat, did you get it mounted? Never seen or heard of anything like it. Cool!
waterfowler
no I didn't get it mounted. I didn't have the money at the time.
2labs
We shot 3 just like that 2 seasons ago, they are half mallard and half farm duck!
Tominator
Looks half domestic to me.
buckee
Looks half domestic to me. Yep. I've seen them around here before. It's just a cross between a barnyard variety white duck, and a Mallard. It's probably sterile too.
NS whitetail
Yep. I've seen them around here before. It's just a cross between a barnyard variety white duck, and a Mallard. It's probably sterile too. I agree
quackmaster4
Probably 1/2 Muscovy duck. They're a common barnyard duck with marking similar to a mallard.
Leo
I agree with the white farm duck/mallard folks. Domestic White Ducks (Pekin Ducks) were originally bred from Mallards and can breed with wild mallards. I've seen those before. They are often huge in comparison to full wild mallards.
