Triumph Sighting In ..

Recommended Posts

Just got back from the range with my dad ,, I needed to sight in my NEW Triumph and Man-O-Man what a sweet setup this ML is ..:cool:

I started of at the 50 Yrd. marker just to be sure I was on paper, first shot a touch high and left, adjusted the windage accordingly and the second shot was on target and a touch high, third shot was almost identical to the second shot. Time for the 100yrd. marker ..;)

I pulled the Speed Breech and wet patched the barrel and then sent 1 dry patch down the barrel .. ;)

Loaded up and took aim at the 100yd. target, first shot was an almost perfect bullseye ... (YES) ... time for the second shot ,, this time it went a touch high and right ,, (I pulled the shot ) loaded up for the third shot and took aim ,, BINGO !! another almost perfect bullseye ..:cool: I usually only do three shot groups but now this is just too fun .. :D:D I load up a fourth round and send it down range and BINGO !! another bullseye ..

Time to try this Triumph out at the 150yrd. marker, so I pulled the Speed Breech and wet patched the barrel and then sent 1 dry patch down the barrel.

Loaded up at took aim ,, I forgot to mention that this Triumph is mounted with a Nikon OMEGA 3-9x40 BDC250 Scope (that was a surprise gift .. :) ) Yep, the round was a touch low and left but good enough for my country shooting ... :D;)

The reason I say that is because my setup is as follows ..

100grns. of Triple Seven Pellets

250grns. Super Slide Shock Waves

Winchester Primers

I think anything over the 150yrd. marker with only 100grns. of powder might be pushing it abit .. ( I may be wrong on this ) but better safe than sorry ..

With groups of 1/4" or less at 150 yds. I'd say this weapon is ready for action ..:cool:

Sorry NO pictures ,, I meant to bring the camera but in my rush to get out the door I forgot the dang thing .. :(

Maybe this fall when I recheck for the season, and my father-in-law still needs to sight in his Pro-Hunter, and .270 setup .. ;)

Sounds like you got yourself one sweet tack driving ml there Luke.

Not going to help you for this year bud, but after season watch your wally worlds for clearances.

Still shooting loose powders here, like customizing my loads. Have a couple pounds each of triple 7 and pyro that I bought on clearance from wal mart.;):D Also have about a half a can of shockey's "gold", that I wish I had never wasted the money on, of course I paid the full price for it from a pro shop.:o

That triumph is a sick lookin ML. I've been eyeing that and Omega. I'll probably end up with the omega just out of cost reasons. That's pretty darn impressive on your sighting in a brand new set up in less than 5 shots or what not! Awesome gun. Killer scope too.

I actually had this ML sighted in where I wanted it in about 8-10 rounds .. ;):)

The Triumph is one heck of a ML .. the OMEGA is also a shooter .. ;)

May want to check out the CVA Accura over the omega. I just bought a black thumbhole / Stainless steel Accura for $373 shipped from R&R Arms. I'll be shooting a lot of conicals out of this one and will report how it does. Seen lots of good stuff about the accura!

I had an SS/laminated thumbhole Omega and while it was a nice rifle, it was a PITA to clean. I remember hearing how easy it was to clean when they first came out. A break open muzzy is truely an easy rifle to clean lol.

Very nice Luke. Sounds like it's ready for the woods this fall....

Yep, I think she's ready to go ... what a fun and easy ML to shoot and clean on the range ..

This is the babe I got for $419.00 (without the scope and mounts ).... with the power rod .. ;)

Here's some of the features that put this ML above the rest in opinion ..

triumphReceiver.jpgRECEIVER

Alloy receiver reduces the weight and balances the rifle for natural handling.

triumphToggleLock.jpgTOGGLE LOCK

Toggle lock action featuring tip-up barrel design (patent pending) provides greater access to breech area for easier priming and cleaning.

triumphSpeedBreechXt.jpgSPEED BREECH XT

Speed Breech XTâ„¢ (patent pending) can be removed by hand by rotating only 90 degrees.

triumphLockingLugs.jpgLOCKING LUGS

Opening series of locking lugs on Speed Breech XTâ„¢ prevent the breech plug from getting seized.

triumphGasRings.jpg3 GAS RINGS

Three gas compression rings (patent pending) on the face of Speed Breech XTâ„¢ eliminates 95% of the corrosive fouling.

triumphTriggerPull.jpgTRIGGER

Factory set trigger with automatic hammer block safety. All triggers come factory set at 3 to 3.5 pounds

Cleaning and shooting the Triumph is so unbelievably easy ..

speed breech is about the only good thing they put on it. They traded off a good quality stainless barrel for a cheapie coat of silver paint. I prefer the SS protection on the inside of the barrel. + its a PITA to take down and clean from what ive read from other triump owners.

Don't know where you got your info ,, but you may want to do some more research or better yet some first hand experience with this weapon JMO .. ;)

I've never found anything cheap about TC Arms .. Now CVA on the other hand is another issue ... I have the CVA Stainless Hunter break open and that is about as cheap and hard to clean as it gets and the Stainless Barrel has pitted and rusted some and those pesky orange primer holders are trash .. ;)

Fact : I bench cleaned and home cleaned this TC first hand and it's about the easiest I've ever done, and that included the cleaning of a Pro Hunter that my father in law has .. ;)

We all have our opinions on the weapons we choose to shoot and own and that's exactly what they are " our opinions " ,, ;);)

This topic was about sight In .. and I think I provided enough info on my experience on the range with the TC Triumph, I found this weapon to perform well and reliably, one of the best experiences I've ever had with a ML on the range .. ;)

"rusted some and those pesky orange primer holders are trash .. ;)"

NEF uses those orange primer holders. CVA never used something silly like those.

Wasnt dogging your rifle but i got a lot more rifle and insurance for less with my Accura. Ive seen more complains about the triumps painted finish bubbling/rusting popping up than ive seen good.

1.5lb Accura trigger is also a sweet thing to have.

Just trying to get your goat ... :D;)

We'll see about the finish on the Triumph, I haven't had it out in the field yet to have it exposed to the nasty elements ... so I can't really comment on the bubbling . ;)

But it is the easiest cleaning ML out there that I've ever cleaned .. ;) And it is one heck of a straight shooter to handle as well ..;)

As for the bubbling finish, I haven't had the Triumph out in the nasty elements as of yet to be able to commemt on it.. ;)

I have shot and cleaned this ML tho and I will say it's one of the easiest on the market .. ;):)

My father has a CVA Pronghorn that is a sweet shooter, but it's a nightmare to clean ..

So far I have to say I like the Triumph .. ;)
