He was really just looking for something that didn't cost $36 a box/20.

I'm set up to reload. I'll let him buy the stuf and reload for him.

That's probably the best route John, get him to pick up some dies for it and whatever powder he wants to use and whip up some loads for him, that'll be a lot cheaper than using the factory ammo. ;)

Personally, I would set him down in front of your re-loading bench and teach him the ropes. Once he gets the hang of it, he'll get hooked and want to get his own re-loading outfit, and will come to appreciate another great activity and pastime.

He lives 3 hours from me and is not a person that needs to have gunpowder in his house.:o

Bless his heart.

I'm not sure what the "gunpowder in the house" comment means, but I was taught by my brother-in-law who lives in a different country that is a few days drive away. He showed me the fundamentals in one weekend visit. It really doesn't take that long. Those few hours of instruction and a few e-mail conversations, provided me with quite a few years of shooting that probably would have otherwise been cost-prohibitive.

However, if the "gunpowder in the house" comment means what I think it does, perhaps this isn't really the best solution. That's a judgement that you are best suited to assess.......lol.

His wife smokes and niether one of them are what you would call "safety minded". I don't (won't) hunt with him.

In that case, I completely understand your reluctance to get him into reloading.....lol. That is absolutely not an activity for someone who is not totally dedicated to safety.
