Well sorry for the long wait, lots of things going on here. Not the least of which was some computer problems:mad:

Story goes like this.........Awesome time!!!!!

First day at camp we scouted 6 longbeards running together and we sort of picked them to be the pack we hunted first. Watched more than 30 birds go to roost the first night directly over our cabin......no lie i mean 20 feet above our cabin and for 30 yards behind it. In Nebraksa if there is a group of cottonwood leaf trees they will have lots of birds roost there due to the lack of trees.

Plan in the morning was set up bmobile and a hen and hope we called in a triple for the three of us to take. Well it rained all night and the birds gobbled all night and kept us awake, (once in a lifetime experience). Woke up and put the plan in action, set up 120 yards away from the roost site and started to wait. The hens and gobblers are way more vocal there and it started early more than an hour before first light.

Long story short, exactly 62 minutes after 1st fly down i had killed my first Nebraska turkey. He strutted up to bmobile and was about to smack him when i smacked him first. Only one of the gobblers broke from the many hens and i had the best position to shoot. I started my camera at first fly down and of course it is a 60 minute tape...yep i ran out of tape 2 minutes before i shot him.

Next afternoon we got on the birds again and this time we waited for over 3 hours as they did their thing, what a great time observing them mate and dust and just be turkeys. We set up an ambush and later we had three nice birds down! We took the birds a mile and a half back into the country from where they were roosted the night before, they can cover some ground when they want to.

Well it was a great time, 6 birds for the three of us. Tammy and her family at 1 + 1 Ranch were great hosts, lots of fun and great birds!

I am a terrible story teller...sorry!
