Turkeygirl
I went up tonight to sit on top of the old gravel pit, camera in hand, and I went up at 6pm, wanted to get up there earlier. I crest the top and see a bird fly off then catch a glance of a strutting tail fan, it's him! I jump down and peek over and there he is, strutting, and gobbling! I sneek back around the corner and through some trees to get on to the top where he can't see me but I can see him. He goes into the woods. I sit and wait and he gobbles, then next thing I know he comes back out, walks straight out into them iddle and is strutting, gobbling, and looking around for his hen! Eventually a hen comes out from somewhere, but not the one that flew off. For a good hour I watched this bird out strutting, got some videos and photos, he went into the woods when the hen went in. I snuck off the top so if they flew up, I wouldn't get spotted, then I heard them roost, he roosted I would say in the exact spot as where he was Sunday, the day I missed him! So I'm thinking I'll sneak in early and set up top, since they flew onto the top of the ridge Sunday...or should I set up in the field? I'm leaning towards ridge top but would like your opinions...and any other tips you may have for me. I'm waiting for a good shot, not risking it again, and praying God has a bird in store for me in the morning!

Turkeygirl
We are getting a light rain as well....not a down pour, so just enough to moisten the leaves and make it quiet for sneaking in in the morning:)
