Turkeygirl
Surprisingly I got the gobbler to gobble twice tonight from his roost to my owl call...relatively same area as Friday night, maybe down in a little more, somewhere between the corn field he was in yesterday morning and a grassy field. Now should I try to get as close as I can or try to wait him and his hen out in a field? I have two field options because it sounded like he's in between the two....the corn field with manure that he was in with the hen yesterday morning..they've been in it a couple evenings....or there's a grassy field down lower... Another question I'm wondering is should I call or just stick my jake and hen out in hopes that they see him, specifically the gobbler, and not call until they see the decoys...if that happens...or just wait and hope that walk by... I'm leaning towards the corn field since that is what I've seen them in, so obviously the hen must liek to come and feed...but I don't know how much I should or should not call....what will bring in the hen in vs. make her go the opposite way?? Thanks for any input, I need it!
Ravin R10 man
go set up where they were yesterday in the corn....set out the hen only..and just do purrs and soft putts..if he responds you may want to throw some excited yelps in
