Fullfan
Started off in Missouri with my 15 year old son. The wind blew for the first 5 days then the rain set in. We logged 52+ gps miles and were on birds every day. More hunting preassure than ever before. We managed to fill all of our tags anbd had a blast. Back home in Pa I was able to take my first bird on the 7th. Then I was plauged by two misses. One on the 8th where I missed judged the yardage, and the sesond on the 11th. I just could not get my head into the game. My season ended on a high note this morning @ 0620. It was 30 deg with a heavy frost. Birds started gobbling at 0525. Two longbeards came to the gun and one got to ride in the truck. He is a mature bird, 4 year old I guess. 24 lbs, 11 1/4 beard and 1 3/8 hooks. Attached are some pic's from Mo and Pa. Fullfan Jr. playing the waiting game. The reward The ol mans turn A lill Mo shed. #1 Pa bird #2 PA bird

Fullfan
Toddy. We hunt in Texas and Shannon Counties. This was my 18th year. The bird numbers are down due to the last 5 years having poor hatches. And we were overrun with other hunters this year. Every day we were bumped on at least one gobbling bird. But the hunting is only part of the vacation, spending time in camp with the locals whom we only get to see once a year is always a good time. Not near the number of birds as in years past....Sure hope we have a good hatch this year.... And we were overrun with other hunters this year. Every day we were bumped on at least one gobbling bird. Right again...with the fairly nice weather there was lots of hunters out. I know a buddy and I tried some public land late in the season and we still ran into several hunters, which is something that generally doesn't happen.
