Well grandpa's surgery ended around noon today and they wheeled him into ICU around 3pm. He can raise his arm and wiggle his feet so he's not paralyzed, but that can change according to the doctors. He came out in decent shape, though he is pale, swollen and puffy.

Tomorrow is up in the air right now. We were hoping to get up to Robbinsville, NC to visit Granny (my mom's grandmother) in the nursing home and maybe Uncle David (my great uncle) who will probably pass within the next month with cancer but it all depends on how grandpa is doing. We won't even be able to visit him till around 10am and it takes 3-4hrs to get to Robbinsville from Chattanooga. To top it off, my cousin Samantha, who is a year younger than me, is having gallbladder surgery in the next town over tomorrow morning. So, if you all could keep Granny, Papa, Uncle David and Samantha in your prayers tomorrow that would be great! :(

I did, however, have an interesting conversation with my uncle, Kenny. I have two great-great-great-grandfathers on my mom's side that were best friends and were legendary bear hunters and houndsmen in the NC/TN area. Well, apparantly one of them, "Little" John Cable, was a lover of the Plott hound and even bred a strain with a curr which resulted in what is now commonly known as the "Cable Plott" that made excellent bear and coon dogs. If anyone has any info on any known hounds of this strain please let me know ASAP because I would like to get one or two for coon hunting here in SD and even for breeding. After all, the strain is almost a family heirloom. Thanks all!
