PotashRLS
I drew a Wisconsin Bear Tag and am looking to buy more dry bait like bread, donuts, icecream cones, granola or candy. It is much harder to get and more $ than a few years ago. Does anyone have a connection for some of these items?
RackBlaster
I don't know if you have one up by you , but Aldi's throws tons of that stuff away. You will just have to go dumpster jumping.
fly
Last spring I was scrambling around looking for bait and realized there is a ton of it out there "free" if you just know where to look and don't mind swallowing that pride. I go to local businesses and get all the free grease I'd ever want. Some have grates making it more difficult to get the grease out of, but some don't. Funny how I never noticed grease containers until I started bear hunting. Most supermarkets will give you their old doughnuts that you can then freeze as well. I'll start stocking up for next spring right after Christmas.

stevebeilgard
don't forget the farmers who are calving about now. some calves don't make it. also lots of road kills to pick up. but make it easy on yourself. for 50 bucks you can buy a shetland pony or old horse. walk it into the woods and put a bullet in it's head. 2 weeks later you have bear bait. vets and animal shelters have to dispose of lots of pets daily. bottom line is there's fresh bait out there any place you look. WIwhitetailhunter
RiponGood cookies has an outlet in Ripon. Might be something to check out if you can get down that way. They might even be able to hook you up in some way with the cookie scraps that don't make it to the outlet store.
gzilla45
Ripon cookies are the best and it is always fun to sample in the store. I would recommend talking to your local bakeries. You should be able to get leftover goods from them. Also check with your local hostess vendor. They are constantly pulling old product off of the shelf. Get 1 1/2 gallons of H20 boiling HARD.............. Dump in a bag of marshmallows and let it rip. Within 30 minutes you'll have EVERY bear within 10 miles of you at your feet.
