For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure has come. 7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith; 8 in the future there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing.

Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.

My favorite Book is Isaiah. Tough to read at first but the last is so encouraging. I find myself drawn back again and again when I am broken down.

Isaiah 41:10 "Fear not, for I AM with you. Do not be dismayed. I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will uphold you with my victorious right hand."

Psalms 121:7-8 "The LORD will keep you from all harm- He will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore."

Yep, that's pretty powerful and promising.

I've always enjoyed this one...........Although it has NO particular meaning for me, it's kind of fun to read.

Deuteronomy 14:21 (New International Version)

Do not eat anything you find already dead. You may give it to an alien living in any of your towns, and he may eat it, or you may sell it to a foreigner. But you are a people holy to the LORD your God.

Do not cook a young goat in its mother's milk.

Kind of makes you wonder............................:eat:

Isaiah 54:10

"For though the mountains should depart and the hills be shaken or removed, yet My love and kindness shall not depart from you, nor shall My covenant of peace and completeness be removed says the Lord, Who has compassion on you."

Just lets me know that if and when this life turns upside down, God's love and mercy never fails.
