JimT
Re: nosler accubond bullets My buddy loads them for his 308. They shoot very very good down his rifle. The buck he shot this year with one never knew what hit it either. I would use them for sure.
Strut10
Re: nosler accubond bullets I loaded them for deer this season. I'm not sure yet. Accuracy was good or better. But the one deer I did shoot left me scratching my head. I shot a 130 lb. doe through the ribcage with a 140 gr. .284" Accu-Bond leaving the muzzle at 3600 fps. She gave no indication of a hit, ran 80 yards before she piled up and left absolutely no bloodtrail. I was not real impressed with those results. I feel the Accu-Bond may be a bit heavy on the controlled expansion to be a top deer bullet. But I won't write it off after only one bad incident. They are a bit pricey. WaCoyote
Re: nosler accubond bullets I used hornady's interbond this year which is virtually the same bullet in my 30-06 to take a little three point and it was friggin awesome. hit the forleg square on the bone, passed through the boiler room and out the other side. Awesome blood trail. The best thing is that you have good expansion but the bullet wont blow up. I hit bone last year with an sst, which is very similar to nosler's ballistic tip and the thing blew up like an a-bomb and ruined a lot of meat. even got that little plastic tip in my dinner one night. OUCH.
AJ
Re: nosler accubond bullets [ QUOTE ] i cant see this happening there is no way you can push a 140 that fast in a 284 [/ QUOTE ] Ever hear of a 7mm STW or 7mm RUM? They will do that. Strut never said he was shooting a 284 Win.
David_218
Re: nosler accubond bullets While these Nosler "Accubond" bullets might be fine; I still like the old Winchester "Silvertips" the best!

brownanddown
Re: nosler accubond bullets i geuess your right on this one i over looked the rum i still can figure out why you need a 7mm rum on a pa puppy anyway!
Strut10
Re: nosler accubond bullets Wasn't a RUM. It's an STW. Don't really "need" it. But I was in a position to be taking some very long shots. A flat shooting gun is a big help.
Guest richv70
Re: nosler accubond bullets I have loading Accubonds 140gr for my 270WSM, took two deer this year, one dropped where she stood, the other went about 10 steps. Both were under 100yds, 70 to 80yds. So far, so good.... Rich
Shaun_300
Re: nosler accubond bullets i like the 180gr Winchester Supreme Ballistic Tips for my .300 WSM. they cruise at 3010 feet per second, and hit at 3600 ft pounds. only thing i don't like about them, they're $36/box up here in Canada, so misses are pretty expensive!
